How to choose your Wedding Celebrant
Beyond the dress, the flowers, the cake and of course the venue, is your ceremony – the heart and soul of your wedding day, the vows and promises you make to each other to last a lifetime. Often lost in the myriad of other decisions, your ceremony can almost become an after-thought when organizing your big day. However, your Ceremony sets the tone or the context, for how you will live together as husband and wife and as such an opportunity to really create your unique relationship through your vows.
Many people don’t realise the legal requirements of the ceremony are actually quite minimal which allows you lots of scope to create a moving, meaningful ceremony that pulls at everyone’s romantic heartstrings, or swing out and incorporate lots of fun elements (themes, interests, favourite quotes, even favourite lines from movies) or special rituals or symbols – candle lighting, hand binding, or something totally unique.
When choosing your Celebrant, you and your Celebrant need to ‘click’ and be on the same wavelength. They need to be someone who is genuinely committed to working with you to make your day special. Being a Celebrant should never just be a job to them, but rather a passion.
A Celebrant who is all about love everlasting is Ann Ricketts. Celebrating her 40th Wedding anniversary last year to husband Phil, Ann is considered a Bride’s lucky charm for a happy marriage. You’ll have the opportunity to meet Ann at The Bride’s Market at Twilight and talk to her about your special day. Ps. She’s still got a few spots left for 2016 if you get in quick.
